Global Error Handler

The TESCRA Error handling Framework (EHF) is TIBCO based Error Handling solution for handling all types of errors and exceptions within an Enterprise Environment. TESCRA EHF can handle exceptions from a diverse set of applications that take part in various business processes, define escalation procedures for resolving these errors and provide comprehensive logging and reporting capabilities.

Although TESCRA Error Handler is implemented in TIBCO’s BussinessWorks, the enterprise can use it to handle exceptions occurring in various enterprise applications.

TESCRA‘s Error Handling Framework is a collection of components, processes, tools and best practices that assist enterprises in successfully handling the all types of errors occurring in diverse software applications within the enterprise. The EHF establishes a standard way of managing the errors as they occur in a TIBCO BW process or external applications within the enterprise. It also acts as a tool to establish escalation procedures and multiple actions to resolve different errors, and build extensive audit trails.

These actions that can be taken in any order, for any number of times to resolve / manage an error.

The framework works as a stand-alone TIBCO BW process, or as a plug-in, which can be plugged into any TIBCO BW implementation for error handling and supports for both TIBCO BW processes or any external applications that support RV, JMS or SOAP transports or can log error data in log files or databases. The Error handler can also be used to centralize error logging and reporting in an otherwise distributed development environment.

A Web-based GUI helps the users configure the EHF quickly and easily.

The core server EHF process is written completely in TIBCO BusinessWorks 5.x. For implementing EHF on older versions of TIBCO BusinessWorks products little customization is required. The EHF supports seamless integration with the following sets of products:
  • Seamless Integration with TIBCO suite of Integration products.
  • Java based applications with built-in JMS transport support functionalities.
  • Non-Java based Applications that can Implement JMS or RV based Messaging features.
  • Applications from any other platforms that support Web Service calls of SOAP Transport in them.
  • Applications that maintain their internal Error Logs for logging errors that occur in them.
  • Applications that log error information into databases.
