  • Extended team providing key TIBCO skills
  • Offshore development team to help bring cost reduction
  • Extension of architecture, design, development and support capabilities helping achieve real “team extension” and not just “bodyshopping”
Benefits
  • Scalable team with quick ramp-up capability
  • Access to highly skilled resources
  • Extended team works directly with the client team overcoming hurdles in communications and knowledge transfer
  • Benefits from offshore cost structures

The Challenge

With hundreds of systems and applications running the core business operations and processes of the client, it was difficult to maintain a large IT team internally that could quickly scale up or down on a need basis.

The budgets were limited and therefore a mix of onsite and offshore team was the obvious choice to achieve cost reduction, yet maintain quality of service and access to a highly skilled resource pool.

The offshore team must be able to work directly with the onsite and customer teams as a seamless unit, working on unified project goals and timelines. Clear communications was the key to achieving an “extended office” model.

As a financial services company, data and information security was essential.

The Solution

A dedicated IT team was identified and integrated with the IT customer teams to work as a single unit. The team was assigned as direct report of the customer program management and architecture teams.

The offshore team was located at an isolated, secure facility to achieve data and information security.

A joint resource forecast model was developed to help the customer scale the team up or down quickly without additional cost burden on knowledge transfer, backfills or ad hoc scale-downs.
